What is robotics and how is it benefiting?

Robotics is a branch of engineering that is used for the conception, design, manufacture and operation of robots.

Robotics has its origins thousands of years ago. However, facts recorded throughout history indicate that in ancient times robots were known by the name of automata, and robotics was not recognized as a science, moreover, the word robot arose long after the origin of the automatic.

Robotics represents the trajectory of technological development, that is, of tool design. Its mission is to build a tool that can perform many of the tasks that humans currently perform, more efficiently and quickly, or in conditions and environments that would be inaccessible to humans.

The robot is, in a way, the smartest tool possible. However, the development of this type of tool, since the early years of automation, also translates into unemployment and the replacement of human labor by automatons.

Its mission is to develop the different aspects of a functional robot: its own autonomy and intelligence, its resistance and it´s programming and control mechanisms.

Robots are generally classified based on their belonging to the different generations of built robots, which are:

First generation. Multifunction robots with a simple control system, manual, fixed sequence or variable sequence.

Second generation. Learning robots, which repeat sequences of movements previously executed by human operators.

Third generation. Sensorized control robots, controlled by some type of program (software) that sends signals to the robotic body to carry out certain mechanical tasks.

Robots have been designed to carry out complicated and forced labor. Currently, there are many areas of development and production where robotics is used. In a global way we can name several fields.
